Náttúrufræðingurinn

Náttúrufræðingurinn is a natural history periodical featuring articles on natural history, ranging from scholarly papers to more general content. Many of the articles are based on research findings about Icelandic nature that have not been published elsewhere. Emphasis is placed on making the material accessible to both scientists and the general public, without compromising on quality or reliability.

Náttúrufræðingurinn is the journal of the Icelandic Natural History Society. It was first published in 1931 under the editorship of Guðmundur G. Bárðarson and Árni Friðriksson. From 1996 to 2006, the Icelandic Institute of Natural History oversaw its publication.

Today, the journal is edited and administered by the Icelandic Museum of Natural History.
