Hrafnathing public lectures

The Natural Science Institute of Iceland organised a series of free public lectures over the winter months at our locations in Akureyri and Garðabær the years 2003-2025.

Hrafnathing lectures covered a wide range of nature-related topics and provided a forum for discussing Iceland’s natural history. Lectures were generally held every other Wednesday at 3:15 p.m. Staff members presented their research and guest speakers were invited to give talks.

Presentations were usually in Icelandic.

Most presentations were recorded and available on the Institute YouTube channel (2011 – present). Summaries of presentations held before 2011 and the schedule of upcoming lectures are available on the Icelandic version of our website.
